October has been a little hectic getting tech savvy with the new website and getting products ready to add to the website for purchase!
With so many options available for different skin types, product viscosity’s, daily routines, favorite brands, types of products, oils, butters and scents – the possibilities are endless!
This is one of the main reasons I studied formulation and really love trying new products! I was tired of paying a lot of money and not liking a product. I also realized once I started making my own skin and hair care, that the amount of active ingredients on the labels are minuscule in comparison to what they advertise and charge for! For example, some of my favorite active ingredients that I’ve tried are Gotu Kola Centella asiatica and Niacinamide (Vitamin B3 – see the next blog post!) and my formulas typically contain between 1/2-2% of these “actives”.
When the products are mass produced, there seems to be a fraction of these ingredients so you end up using more, using it up faster and having to pay again for more! I also appreciate my custom blended items more because I know what’s in them and understand what the chemical parts do and are for. I have suppliers that provide top of the line, certified ingredients and I store them in their very own refrigerator to last up to a year before they get used or replaced. This is recommended to keep the ingredient’s potency as well as any discolorations, loss of scent, etc.
With the dozen or so products that I have started with and another dozen or so coming down the line – from bi-phase and tri-phase facial serums and gels to solid, no waste bars and balms, if there’s something here you are interested in but don’t see, simply hit the contact me button, text, social media message or call me up! It’s been several months since I’ve done any men’s line products but really enjoyed the beard conditioning sprays & balms, shave foam, facial oil cleansers, exfoliating shower bars, clay and emulsion masks and eye shadows – cream and powder and some tinted lip glosses and balms.
With love and wishes for beautiful skin,
