Toner or Facial Mist

When I thought of toner, I flashed back to the 80’s with the blue, astringent one that burned my face that dried out my skin and was ‘all the rage’ of teens everywhere.

Fast forward to 2022 when I studied formulation and saw all the lovely ingredients that could be used in a REAL toner (if you want active ingredients for a specific purpose) or a face mist (no active ingredients, simply hydration) that can be used after a shower and before any other products that you can use to seal in that added moisture or to freshen up during the day if you live in a dry, windy part of the US!

I redo my toner every time I refill my personal bottle just to change up a scent I’m feeling like, an active ingredient for a specific desired result or time of year when I will be applying it and spending several hours in the sun doing yard work, etc.  Some active ingredients you don’t want baking into your skin outside all day so I take that into consideration when formulating your special blend!

This particular day, I was feeling like trying a new Helichrysum hydrosol to help purify and balance my skin from the stress and environmental factors we’ve been having lately (smoke, wind).  Since it has an earthy scent already, I stuck to a natural bit of essential oil at the end using lemon/eucalyptus for a refreshing, natural feel.

This perfect size comes in a 3 oz spritzer and should last 2-3 months or longer if you use something different at night.  It can be customized with lots of different hydrosols, active ingredients and scents.

Ingredients: Distilled water, Geogard (preservative), Allantoin (moisturizing), Potassium Sorbate (secondary preservative), Helichrysum hydrosol, Chamomile hydrosol, Aloe vera juice, Aloe vera powder, Dermofeel (product dispersant) Glycerin, Hyaluronic acid (helps retain moisture), Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Sodium Lactate (helps retain moisture), Gotu Kola (increases collagen synthesis in mature skin), Supersolv (solubilizer), Lemon/Eucalyptus essential oil.
